I must say, it is both humbling and hilarious to see your first deviations that you added to deviantART as far back as 10 years ago. Β When I say hilarious, I mean it in the nicest way, just like when you pick up an old drawing and just laugh at yourself saying, "Oh god, is this really what I drew back then?! WAS THIS MY BEST!?" And then you laugh it off because of the indescribable progress you've made since then. Β And that's where the humbling aspect comes in. Β It just makes getting a career in what I want, art, animation, what have you, that much closer and real. Β I'm so glad to see you back on dA, now with Michael, especially when so many are leaving (this quite useful) platform. Β Just know that you are hugely inspiring especially as I'm trekking through the scary journey of creating my portfolio for Sheridan's animation program! I was wondering how you guys got good at drawing disney style.
Right now I'm mainly trying to learn tradition drawing because I don't have a actual drawing screen just a tablet and I'm not totally used to you.

I don't think that we learned the "Disney Style" as much as simply learning to caricature the world with form and structure, which seems to be the signature "Disney" Look. I would tell you to focus on learning how form turns in space and how landmarks on the face are drawn when the head is tilted oddly. Look at Milt Khal for a master draftsman who always drew everything with great structureΒ

What do you think is a good place to learn those things? Just learn to draw in general and then adapt that to get the "Disney" look?
