But you asked me which couple I shipped, and I wanted to say that I was a Sukka fan. But not because I dislike the Yuekka (Yukka?) pairing... And I don't think I can even say why they are my favorite, either.
Ugh. I never have reasons for my couples. Which sometimes get me into hot water from my friends. Heh.

Another Canon fan? Yay! They seem to be hard to come by these days. And Yukka is totally canon, no doubt. Most of my main couples are canon, but for every fandom I usually have a few guilty crack couples tucked away somewhere...
Well, one of my friend is a yaoi fangirl, and another loves the bad boys, so we do have a few... disagreements now and then. Out of the three of my friends who watch avatar (only three! But I'm trying to convert more) I am the only one who supports Kataang, and the other two HATE Maiko. Zutarians. What can you do?
And the Twilight Bella/Edward Bell/Jacob thing got ugly for a while, too. And don't get me started on The X-Men ships we've got going...

when it comes to shipping fights, we've never really gotten into arguements over it. I only have a few hardcore fan friends, but I had a series finale screening party in September (I was away over the summer, so I couldn't watch the finale with any of my friends back home...so when I came back, I got us all together to watch it) and I had a pretty good turn out. there were about fifteen people there (and there were plenty more I could have invited from my school, but I just wanted the people I knew well to come.) We didn't really get into any shipping wars, though. Mainly, we just made all kind of dirty comments about the episode while we watched it. like Katara said something like "Where's Aang? I hope he comes back!" and my friend Lauren replied, "Well, if you lick him, he will cumm." and everyone burst out laughing. Just horrible stuff like that xD
Probably the only friend of mine who cares about ships is my friend Emily who really doesn't even watch the show. I sort of made her watch some of it, and got her mildly interested though not enough for her to watch it on her own. She's a Zutarian. Though she always says "I think Satara and that scar kid should get together!" (She always mixes up Sokka's and Katara's names xD). We kind of joke, but it's never really an argument. So, nah. really no shipping wars for me.
I gotta admit, I try to avoid the whole twilight thing. I read the first two and just got a little tired of it all. But, let the record be known, if I were to pick either Edward or Jacob, it'd DEFINATELY be Jacob, because he made bella STOP WHINING and being so PATHETIC and OBNOXIOUS for a little bit in the second book. haha. I wanted to slap her the entire time!

Heheh. Sounds like a lot of fun. Most horrible, dirty jokes are. And it's good that you don't get tied down in the ships. I haven't had it happen personally, but all you have to do is look at some of the comments on a picture featuring a certain couple, sometimes... *wince*
And it's usually the canon couples that get the worst of it, too. I feel sorry for Mai. She probably gets it the worst.
I got into Twilight before it got scary big, but got turned off by the fact that suddenly everyone and their mother was reading it. I actually think her other book, The Host is much better. Though I'm careful as to how loud I say that, of course.
So, if you're not into twilight, then do you dabble in any other fandoms?
