My mum had a stroke this monday morning, shes making fantastic progress getting better, but this has pushed everything else to the back of mind for who knows how long. I had plans revolving around buying some gnomon DVDs to spur me on, but my mind is all over the place right now.
Frankly, it sucks when you get smacked in the face by your parents mortallity!

I've done heaps of sketchy stuff which is either crap or nothing new, and I've copied some pics from some manga as practise. Add that to my laziness and you get very little in terms of post-able art. But you are right, I do need to do something!

Hi, good to hear from ya. Been talking with crow lately about his finishing up yr 12, so what are you up to? and thinking about aplying for the game art course?

I have applied, just from my personal position I don't think I have a good enough portfolio.. only time will tell. I didn't really have much time, as I had exams to study for (I didn't do too well there either... too hard subjects and my poor study habits). Oh well if things don't go as planned, I'll just return and do yr 12 again and build a very good portfolio.
On other notes I have beenn busy with finishing school and tafe portfolios (I have proffessional writing as well), I've been working and drawing.

Finsihing up this terms work...from the top...a portfolio dvd, a character sheet, action shot and backstory with game functionallity, skill practising by coping story boards from halo 2 and what else...probably best not to say, I'd hate to scare you off
But the cert four eases you into this sort of thing in the diploma (what i'm finishing at the moment) so it's all good.
Oh...finishing textureing two low poly models of my fantasy creature, almost forgot those.

Shorter actually. The longest one weve had was only eight weeks, thats including the 'quickie assement, no work just pick up your marks and go' week. I'm kinda sure thats the longest, but now that i think about it we may have had a 10 week one in there somewhere (i think?).

ah ok, thats alot different to what I expected. I would have figured that terms would be alot larger due to assigns, but obviously I"m wrong lol. How long are your lessons anyways?

3 hours per lesson, except for animation which we have for 6 (all day). You also get full days with two different lessons, like fridays we got motion graphic in the morning, an hour for lunch, and then visualising in the afternoon.

Well, my times from this term were...Mon- 1:30pm to 8:00, Tues- off, wends- 9:30 to 4:30, Thurs- 9:30 to 12:30, and Fri - 9:30 to 4:30.

i get them today and i got 13 A3 images done in 6 and a half hours so i even scared myself there but i get my moderated marks today crossing my fingers i have passed art.
i failed chemistry and home ech but i think i passed the rest

13 A3 images in 6 and a half hours! Damn, your a machine. I drove myself to sickness getting 3 A2 ones done in three days for my uni application back in Tassie. I came done with a cold half way through the third one, luckly my dad was feeling artistic and he finished colouring it for me.
Some wisdom for ya...remember to breath at interviews, staying alive and not choking leaves a good impression!

Personally, I'd go for quality over quantity. Show off a good variety of good quality work. Though you could still get the rest together seperately just to let them know about the amount you've done, and only show them if they ask.
