Oh, i think your blob's problems is that it has to few polygons /or/ segments in the basic objects your deformed to shape it. Try a meshsmoth, but go easy on the iterations level or you'll need a $%$% Craig computer to play with it...

i use photoshop and different things in bryce to create the effect i want..its easy to get away from the glossy designs...work with it

Welcome to DA's dysfunctional family.... looks like there is some potential here... though speaking from experience, filters are a crutch, try getting away from relying on them, and use them only to act like an extension of what you are trying to do... you learn a lot in trying to just hide them. have a great holiday season
