Btw when do you know which methord you use to solve a quadratic equation? Like do you used the quadratic formula or do you do it by hand so you factorise it?

Eh, they're alright, not that special...

Um, right:

For example:

x^2-4x+4=0

Step 1) See if it factorises--In this case, it does.

So Put it into brackets:
(x-2)(x-2)=0
Therefore, x=2

Step 2)If it doesn't factorise, eg:

x^2+4x-11=0

The use the quadratic formula-
REMEMBER TO WRITE DOWN BOTH THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE VALUES FROM THIS-It's a stupid mistake I often make!
