Thank you Samah. This is such a deep issue. As you practice you should naturally progress towards a repetitive technique that you enjoy and produces results that you are happy with. How long have you been painting? It took around 2 or 3 years for myself to decide upon the technique that I enjoy the mot, which has since developed into what you see now. Do you have a tutor?

first of all i really would like to thank you for taking the time to help me.
i have been drawing since i can remember, i guess by the age of 4 , painting started at the age of 15.
every thing i know about art is by self teaching and practice so i never had a tutor .
i produce a painting or 2 or 3 every year,i don't take as much time to paint as much i take time to decide what to paint ,i usually use a picture or someone photography which leads me to feel guilty and that am stealing art work and am not an original artist , then i stop painting for a while so from that you can see why i only finish 2 paintings a year ,from this u can see that techniques isn't my only problem , i also have a problem with finding a topic , or a cause to talk about in my art work , for example u talk abut dancers and their passion , for me i have no clue what to talk about in my art work.and i want to ask you as experienced artist , is drawing from a picture as a reference or as a taken photography artwork then adding my own prospective and emotion in to it considered as stealing? . again thank you for your time you have no idea how lost i feel

Try painting from your own photo's...
If you paint from the photo's of others, it's OK for critique purposes and your own personal use only.
Not for any commercial use.
Are there no art classes in Yemen?

Ok i got the idea of that,
i only been in Yemen once
am a graphic student in Malaysia, and my family lives in Saudi Arabia.
and as a student am to busy with the studies, and once i tried to do so but in Malaysia all classes are from 9 am tile 5pm , and at that time am busy with my own collage classes..
and back in Saudi they are more in to abstract, so drawing a nude , or any thing with human isn't a good idea for some culture issues.
do you really think being in an art class could make a difference.
