# About me

My daily profession is appraiser for the property tax. My father was a professional woodcarver. I could watch how to do it. I could use his tools etc. Beside this I have a great affaction with nature. That's why i studied forrestry . I like hunting in the forrest as well with my eyes as with my gun. With all of this in my bag, I try to make realistic sculptures and paintings at the moments that it thickles.

Recently finished my second cane "Poisonous" think you'd like it. What wood are you using on the Roe head?

It's a cane with realy small frogs. Good work. Took a lot of time I think! and maybe a few fingers :-) (Smile) . I mostly use oak because I have a lot of it and it makes the carvings durable.

Yes Red Oak is readily available and it is what I have most of. The problem with the new cane is it's fragility, one instance of neglect would render the entire piece too easily damaged. This design was not the best for a cane but the idea popped into my head and after a 10 min sketch I had the preliminary concept down and started working on the wood from there. I guess I need to put more thought into what I'm planning to carve.

A utensil does not always have to be used. Maybe on a special occasion and otherwise as a decoration on the wall
