When I started year 9 I chose to learn it at school and ever since then I have just loved it. I get good marks for it to which is awesome.

haha that's cool. I started because I felt I needed to start contributing something on deviant art. And I get horrible marks in photography at school haha, that said our teacher is hopeless, I offered to teach him aperture but he said no.

He's been at my school for years, he taught my dad when he was at school so I guess he's nice to me cause he knows my dad, but he is really loud and gets angry easy and it's actually really scary when he's yelling at someone so you just sit back and try not to be noisy and stand out. Haha.

My teacher is an engineering teacher who got moved over to photography and he spends most of his time just trying to *unsuccessfully* control the class.

But now I getcha, and you never told me you took photography, I'm still happy to teach you if you want. We can learn composition at the same time because I've found out I know absolutely nothing about it.

I know. But he's happy with me cause I won the photography competition at the show so hopefully he leaves me alone.

Yeh, he's taught us aperture, shutter speed and 12 composition elements. What kind of work do you do?
He gives us a topic such as composition for example,
then we go research types of composition and plan how we're going to take the photos then when we can we go out and take the photos and we have a certain amount of weeks to do the whole task.

That's pretty cool, our's is just like 'this task we're taking low light photos' or next we're taking naturally lit ones. And I don't usually bother.
And I have no idea what the 12 composition elements are.
But our school has a studio which is fairly nice and Bridgette is quite willing to be my model so all is well.

We used to have a dark room until last year they decided to build a studio instead which is awesome.

That's cool, I like rule of thirds and golden ratio, probably because their pretty much the same thing and I don't really think about my composition as much as I probably should.
And Bridgette's a hopeless model, she never does what I say x.x, at least she's pretty.

I think I fuss too much other the aperture and shutter and forget about everything else, especially when shooting film because I'm always really scared I'll lose my shot.
And yeah, she just gets all camera shy.

I usually leave my camera on auto and it takes good shots but sometimes for my assignments I need to take photos like blur, freeze and panning, and i'm useless at those, except for freeze. I can never take a panning photo which is annoying. What kind of camera do you use? I have a Nikon D50 & sometimes I use my Dads Nikon D90. I'm still trying to learn how to use them and change the shutter and aperture properly. xD

Haha auto is a life saver sometimes.
I use mostly a Pentax k200, but right now I'm using a Canon 300d with a 50mm 1.8, which is the absolute sex except the battery's very near dead.

I don't even remember what the lenses are on my cameras, I just know how to make an awesome depth of field photo with how I set it so i'm happy! Do you edit your photos alot? I have no idea how to use photoshop properly so I only do the basic stuff like borders. xD

Haha it's good to know about lenses eventually, I can take a shot at f/1.8 in my room at night at ISO 100 and it'll still be properly exposed, which means there wont be any noise or anything in the shot, and around 3.5 the depth of field goes crazy shallow which is cool.
And yeah, I edit a lot, I started out with just the simple stuff like colour correction and then started doing all cross processing and that until it started to feel tacky, I try to keep minimal in editing because it's easy to get carried away.
Also today I found out how to use the vibrance dial which is awesome, I usually turn it all the way down and it makes everything look all moody.
