It's about this drummer called Andrew (Miles Teller?) who's cute in a dorky way. He's a talented jazz drummer and he goes to this super prestigious music school. Settles down in a jazz band, but is snooping and sees a much more professional band class... and joins.
Except the conductor, Fletcher, IS A FUCKING SADIST. He shouts. He screams. Andrew misses one beat? He gets screamed at. Not on Fletcher's tempo? He gets slapped. Does even the slightest thing wrong? Fletcher throws a fucking chair at him
Fletcher plays mind games with Andrew for the whole movie. Has him practise until 2am and until Andrew's hands are bleeding and covered in blisters. As well as being a massive jerk to the other members of the band, bullying the disabled kid, being homophobic to the gay kid, belittling the fat kid.
