Your art's great, very charismatic and almost like you've got satAM and SA style in one. Like perfectly balanced!
Australia is amazing. I lived in a city called Melbourne for 5 years which is very arty and you'll definitely see a lot of communities there. PAX even host their stints on a yearly basis
I'm now in a city called Adelaide. Did practice as a dentist for 7 years in general practice but I have gone back to University to specialise. That's why I never have time to draw I could but every time I get a break I get so exhausted.
I just need to be 'in the zone' and I just haven't been there for years now.

I'm going off topic... yes do visit Aus. You'll love it. There is so much to do! If you like sunshine and beaches though, Queensland or Gold coast is the place. Even the big forests are great in Queensland I believe.
Melbourne and Adelaide are like the UK. Coldish weather or just patterns that can't make up their mind xD

Oh hey, thank you so much for the kind words! Yes I remember the days of those artworks. It was so much fun to draw those.
I've tried so hard to find the same passion again but it's so hard. But you know, even if one person like my art, that was all that ever got me motivated to draw again.

I agree with you, the fandom is not what it was. What I may do though is give Sonic Forces a shot and maybe I'll get back into it. I am so delighted after all to see Shadow reprising. He was my fav and the reason I got into the fandom in the first place

Well I'll see what I can cook up xD Just have so much on. Pretty much put all my effort into my career and it's been great in the outside world but definitely miss the online community.

I'll throw in a Sonic pic soon for old time's sake and see what transpires.

Tell me about it... it feels like it was only yesterday when we could follow amazing artists such as Orin, E09ETM, manaita and many more. People grow up and eventually leave this fandom or pick something else.

xD Really remember the good old days on DA when I enjoyed talking with everyone!
If I could go back in time, I'd do so so much more to have kept the Sonic community going

Same here! Everyone was so talkative, friendly! There were many people around and we could learn so much from them. You still get skilled artists here but not so many nowadays. Everything looks the same. I have also noticed that what I used to make 5-6 years ago is no longer popular and people don't like this kind of style anymore so I have to adapt to what is trendy now :/ and it is not something I'm into because it looks rushed, simple and boring.
Oh no worries, take your time I am very busy with my uni animations this month so it may take my up to 2 days to reply too. But I'm trying to check out dA daily as I'm running some clubs.
Days when you could relax and draw? Do you mind me asking how old you are? I'm turning 26 next year. And you know what? I'm only in my second year of uni whilst most of people my age have finished their education already

Oh yes... we should mention many more... I have noticed you are friends with Mr Goldhedgehog! That's how I found you because he's got you on his friends' list and I simply adore him. I have been 10 years in this community and have seen many artists around but I still consider him as one of the best artists I have ever bumped into I have to pick myself up one day and draw something for him and you to show you all my gratitude for being awesome yarr. When I decide that I'm skilled enough to do that Boltstryke. Oh -tears up- stoph that! You will make me cry! I remember him! He was well known along with Puritylf (think was her name), Yodabar and many more! Is he doing okay? I never talked to him, I think he left shortly after I came to dA so...
You are too kind... oh Dear... I am not as good as manaita and the others not even in 50%, long way to go! You should compare yourself to them Wraith!
I am trying to keep this community running, I try to takeover some older clubs, look for older artists hidden around like you are... you need some advertisement!
Our styles are different, practice makes up for it, nothing else. You need to grab the pen and kick off with some awesome stuff again and I'm sure you will do great Perhaps you will motivate me to draw more.. because after playing Sonic Forces something is dying in me. I am not gonna spoil anything to you but better if you don't look forward to expecting a lot from this game. It is a good game but nothing you can compare to Sonic Adventure 2 or Heroes... (WHICH ARE MY FAVS TOO O___O oh we have so much in common! Sonic Riders was fantastic as well!!).

Shadow is just... Yes yes, my avatar, Shadow is the most complex Sonic character ever made I'm quite old now but it didn't stop me from buying First4Figures Shadow statue because he is epic and he needs an unconditonal love All I do is drawing Shadow and the rest of the hedgehogs ocassionally because they are so different from each other it's like going through hero-neutral-evil modes all the time.

Kate is a lovely name. I may call you Wraith if that makes you happier
Oh... ohh and so are you can't wait to see what you are going to come up with, especially if you're planning on releasing something Sonic related ^^ Go play the game! Episode Shadow is quite good and may motivate you a lot!

Oh.. shame you're not in London any longer! We could have met up! I wish to see Australia one day at some point! It's such a beautiful country, full of huge bugs and everything that apparently can kill you... is that true...?
When you come to visit please let me know we shall grab some fancy food and visit a few good places! And it would be nice to play some sonic games with you haha!

Finally I am writing back to you xD apologies for the delay. Goodness me and golly gosh, we write for days don’t we? xD

I miss the good old time big time and I too am greatful I can vent to someone about it xD Looking back at all my own work and I just remember how much fun it was to draw and I think getting atmosphere was probably my strongest point. Would get mad at people sometimes. Like, watchers would say ‘Love the bg’ and I’d be like ‘NOT JUST THE BG RIGH?!?!’

I agree, about skills we’re seeing across DA. There seems to be a mainstream style and it is boring and bland. Back in the day, we could really see amongst the great artists what style we were noting. Like Orin, Boltstryke, manaita, Kycha… they had their own style and flare. Would scream for joy if any of them spoke to me xD tbh Boltstryke and Kycha are down to earth and real people. I used to enjoy speaking to them. But yes do have Bolt on FB and he’s as cool as ever

Ah don’t worry about the agenda and education. As I messaged you about, I’m going back to study for another 3 years to specialise. Going to be a bit weird being back in weird. My boss who got a PHD when going back to Uni said on his first day, he had to go to the bathroom and throw up. He asked himself what he was doing back studying xD Was all worth it for him in the end!

Oh I am so old now. I am 34! But 16 at heart xD I’ll never grow up. Still like drawing toons and playing computer games. Mainly League of Legends. And yep work as a dentist. Fun job but lots of work to do and high focus profession.

Goldhedgehog is also awesome! We have joked around with League of Legends puns xD I believe he lives in Australia too. One of the best countries ever! I do miss London so much though. I am dying to come back and visit. Was going to try before Xmas but have committed to work as I’ll need the money for my course xD

Man I downloaded Sonic Forces. Went straight to Shadow campaign and… controller won’t work on PC!! :angry: Will have to wait for my partner to come home and fix it for me. I am so dumb with computer hardware. Waited long enough for download so I am totally annoyed ><

I can imagine Sonic games won’t be as good as the old days of SA2 and Sonic Heroes. I am so SO glad to see Shadow again tho. Will not even touch Sonic Gen or colours cos no Shadow. It’s all about Shadow for me

Did hear his voice on Sonic Forces. Very much sounding like the old Shadow which I was relieved to hear xD

Did you watch Season 2 of Sonic Boom in edgy Shadow in it? The best edginess I have ever seen he is so evil there...
I remember your character Wraith! When I was like 13 (back then when I used to see your drawings everywhere on dA) I always compared Shadow to fire and your Wraith to ice. And always liked this concept in my mind. Wanted to draw them together at some point but again, I wasn't skilled enough to do it. I may do it in the near future if you promise you will start sketching your Wrath again ^^

Yes, there's quite a lot happening in London nowadays... one of the most popular cities in the world after all.... and a fairly easy target... Just need to avoid concerts, public events and London Bridge. I live near Kingston-upon-Thames so the area is quite safe
