Since you like swords, I was wondering if you've seen "The Book of Eli" yet, and what you thought. Denzel Washington kicks serious butt. His weapon is a VERY large Filipino Barong. I think you'll admire the fight scenes. I really liked it. WARNING: if you're overly fond of cats you might want to pass. I don't want to spoil it so I won't say more.

lol ya I have seen it and I love cats, but I laughed when it was shot. "The Book of Eli" is actually one of my all time favorites. His blades are gorgeous and he wielded them with such grace. It was amazing, plus I have to say that all of Denzel Washington's effort he put into making this movie was worth it. XD

lol A woman after my own heart! I agree. I found that movie satisfying on a number of levels. a) Denzel was great, and I thought everyone else was compelling and believable as well. b) I know a little about survival and have studied collapsed societies and know a little about nuclear weapon effects, and the environment were realistic and believable. c) the bartering sequences were well played and realistic as well. Of all the PA movies I've seen this is one of the most realistic portrayals of what life would be like in an area that was hard hit by weapons effects. It's like I could see everything and everyone in the movie actually existing just as they were portrayed. In this genera it is rare to find this attention to detail and realism. My hat is off to Denzel and the rest of the cast and crew (especially the effects people) for making this wasteland so real.

And the humor was great too. You wouldn't think chap stick would be an item of barter. But, now that he said it, cat oil would work!
And I liked the part when the girl is sent to sleep with him and he teaches her to pray instead! That was great!
And the part where he's bartering and asks for water, and the bartender says, "Oh, you want the good stuff." was cool too.
Humor, cat oil, guns, book bombs, swords, what's not to like?
