I work as a graphic and web designer full time and pick up freelance on the side. How about you?

I am graduating with my degree in Web design in a month...and having a hard time finding a job...Its like, companies are wanting designers with development skills as well...do u have any advice for someone just starting out?

Actually I found the exact same problem myself. It seems hard to find a solely front end web design job. I ended up learning how to code html and css but I made it very clear that I don't do anything more than that. As for freelancing I teamed up with a friend who knows how to program so if it gets too complicated I bring him on board and he partners up with me on his jobs since he needs a designer.
I would suggest learning some basic html and css and trying to find a programmer you can trust. I hate turning down a job because I can't program the features a client wants.

See, I have the HTML, XHTML and CSS....its the Java I dont have....and the PHP and all the rest that I cant even remember.. I have a developer friend...so I can do the same when it comes to freelancing...and Im starting my bachelors in web design/development which is going to help fill in all those blanks...its just frustrating ... i feel like i went to school for two years for NOTHING. Thanks for the luck though...I think I need it!!

Thanks! I haven't really done any illustrating in the last couple of years. I should really get back on it. I also love your sketches. Gives me a Tim Burtonish feeling. Great work!
