Hi ^^
I've been wanting a pair of fursuit hand paw molds or some tips on how to make them so smooth like you made yours.
These are the ones i've wanted for about a year now (they totally disappeared for a year or longer) furryecho.deviantart.com/art/P…
I've asked around and so far i've found that I can make the sculpt using paper clay or sculpey and sanding it down as much as possible. Then going over it with gesso to get it super smooth. I then am a little lost as to what to use for making the mold itself, would oomoo 30 be the best option? Is there another silicone I should take a look at for the mold? And I assume that plaster isn't the best thing to be using for the mold?
As for the silicone i'm pretty sure I want to use Dragonskin because i'm looking to achieve the glittery/starry and translucent effect you achieve in your paw pads. Do you use another type of silicone for the finished product?
I greatly appreciate a response! I'm feeling a little more familiar with all of these products and slowly learning what steps to take, would love some input!!
I'd be willing to have a quote if you are willing to take this as a commission as well, only if your open to that.

Hi! We get all of our foam from Jo-ann's; they usually send out 40-50% off coupons if you subscribe to their mailing list.
Hope that helps!

Use low temp hot glue for thin furs or you can sew them on but get thick thread depending on the type of fabric you have :3

Hi!
You can either sew the silicone directly to the fur or you can hot glue them from behind onto the backing!
Hope that helped!

Unfortunately, our jawset molds are currently damaged.
We will be resculpting them and remolding them sometime in the near future.
We'll post an announcement once they're available again!

Dear Yeep-yeep,
I've always wanted to work moldings, however the process seems easy to mess up and the materials are so expensive. It seems like an art form that's impossible to get into without a large income and an instructor. Do you mind telling me how you began using molds?
Best Wishes,
Ashley
Ps: Thank you for your time.

I am working on Albert The Autonous Atonatom. he is to be a steampunk dragon puppet/quad legged costume.
I am looking for advice. I wanted to use bottle glass for his eyes or even better plastic in a bottle glass pattern but I can not find any.
I have considered using wine bottles and cutting the tops off and setting the bottoms into the head. but I an also having trouble finding one the are light color and narrow enough for my needs.
I want to put many random flashing LEDs behind the eyes and up the nosterals but I am finding those hard to find too.
I can not find arm braced crutches for his front legs. any suggestions as to how to build some.
I was going to use a chain strap to move the Jaw. got any better ideas?
I was going to use bicycle hand brakes for controls to move the tail. got any better ideas?
