I sketch the art first on paper, then I come to a computer, outline it digitally, and colour it in. I recommend Krita. Krita is a free software similar to Photoshop but extremely easy to use.... Use references, use reference to help guide you on how to draw the shape or whatever you’re drawing. Look at some examples, and use that and perhaps make your own positions/colours.
