This is Tama, Vitani, and Scar. Vitani is a little newborn cub. I didn't edit this picture with Picasa3, but at first I did. It looked really bad, so I just kept it the way it was. It still looks ok.

Story Time!!!

Tama sat alone in the lions den. Well, almost alone. There was a few Hyenas guarding the entrance. Which was pretty stupid. She was due any day with her cub. How could she run away when she's pregnant?
Tama stared down at her stomach. She hoped that this cub was a boy. She knew Scar wanted a heir, and if she could give him one maybe he would leave her alone. Maybe she could finally run away.
And then, there would only be one question left. Would she take her cub with or leave it? A cub would slow her down, and she would have to hunt more, and watch it, but then again, it's her cub. She can't leave it with Scar. Scar could harm her cub. Hell, Scar even killed his own brother!
Tama shook the thought out of her head. She had tried her best to forget it. It haunted Tama ever since Scar told her. She had been trying her best to get it off of her mind.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a sharp kick down in her stomach. She looked down, and knew her cub was coming. Tama wasn't sure what to do. She remembered getting a few glimpses when Mheetu was born, but she was younger and couldn't remember much of it. Plus, she couldn't get to the front of the group that was watching, so she didn't see much of anything.
All she knew is Sarabi was helping and...Sarabi! If she could get Sarabi, she could help!
"Hey!" Tama yelled. "Hey, you!"
A Hyena turned its head towards her.
"What?" It snapped.
"I need you to go get Sarabi, please! I'm in labor!"
"Yeah right! So when I leave, you're gonna run off! Well, no! I'm not going to let you leave!"
Tama started to growl.
"I'm in labor you idiot!" she snapped. "I can't walk away right now! And plus, there is a few other Hyenas right there! They can stop me if i tried to run!"
The Hyena hesitated.
"You can give birth on your own!" the Hyena said. "That one lioness, what was her name? Zeri? Zera?"
"Zira?"
"Yeah, Zira, she gave birth all on her own! Why can't you?"
Tama sighed, knowing she wouldn't be able to get help. And just when she though things couldn't get worse...
"What's wrong with you?"
Scar stood over Tama, glaring down.
"I heard you yelling," Scar said.
"I'm in labor, and that stupid Hyena won't get Sarabi for me!"
"You're in labor?" Scar, for once, looked concerned. "I'll get Sarabi. Stay here."
"Well, I wasn't planning on leaving right now."
Scar ran off to go get Sarabi. Tama stared as he left. He seemed like he actually cared about her. She had never seen that. He was either angry with her, or he was teasing her or anything else. Never nice or caring.
Soon, he came back with Sarabi and she helped Tama. Her cub was born within an hour, but something scared Tama. It was a girl. Her cub was a girl.
Scar was outside the den, pacing back and forth.
"Scar," Sarabi said, "you can go in now."
Scar almost ran in, to look at his newborn cub. He stood, inches away, staring down at the smiling cub.
"Our son," he mumbled.
"Well Scar, actually--"
"He looks like a good leader."
"But, Scar--"
"And he seems healthy. A perfect heir!"
"He is a she!" Tama yelled.
Scar paused for a moment. Then started to laugh.
"You are funny," he said. "But look! He has a little hair tuff--"
"And so do I! It is a girl! Trust me!"
Scar blinked, then started to show his teeth.
"That thing," he said. "Now that I'm looking at it, it looks nothing like me! How do I even know that's my cub!"
"A few seconds ago, you said it was!"
"I mean, look at it! Blue eyes! Do either of us have blue eyes? No!"
"My mother does!" Tama yelled. "She could have gotten her eyes!"
"That is not my cub! It doesn't look like me!"
Tama glared at Scar, baring her teeth.
"I guess we will have to try again when your in heat. That cannot be my heir. It's not even my cub."
"Scar, you've kept watch on me for a while! How would I sneak away, mate with some lion, and come back? Plus, don't you think if I mated with someone else, I would leave?"
Scar hesitated. She would have left. She wouldn't come back. Why would she come back to him?
"I suppose the is true," he mumbled. "But it can't be my cub--"
"Why? She can't be your cub because she's not what you wanted?!"
Scar was going to argue, but that's exactly why he thought it wasn't his cub. He did the same when Nuka was born.
"Hmm..." Scar paused. "I won't try to get rid of her. If you can find another cub. An abandoned one, or something. I need a heir, and I can't wait no longer!"
With that said, Scar stormed out of the den.
