Description WARNING: SADSTUCK. Continue reading at own risk. Triggers may include but will not be limited to: themes of depression, themes of suicide, and curse words.

I will not place a mature content filter on this unless it is specifically requested. It does have some ideologically sensitive themes, but they don't seem heavy enough to have this blocked for 18+.

You have been warned.

"Hey, FUCKASS!" Another familiar voice mocked your ears, and you knew these were words once designated for you. Anger seeped into the voice, an event not exactly unusual as of late. "What the ACTUAL FUCK? Aren't you listening?!"

Your eyes glazed over, staring down the balcony covered in snow. You continued to lean against the railing, not bothering to turn and face your fears. Closing your eyes, you sniffled at the cold air. Perhaps if you ignored your life stealing in around you, it would become slightly less real. Maybe, even, it would simply cease to exist. It could be carried away on the wintry wind that chilled your bones, leaving you alone in your castle of solitude.

Just maybe; peradventure.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation,
and it looks like I'm the Queen

Not now, you thought. Anything but right now.

More vocals began to rise in your mind, each upset with you for some reason or another.

It wasn't your fault, you wanted to say. Sorry, you wished to tell them. You let them all down.

"It's your fault, wwrigglin lowwblood. Can't believve I evver thought you wwere somefin else." Someone spat, glowering down at you with the yellow eyes of a young troll. He gnashed sharp teeth together, as if disgusted even by the thought of speaking to you any more. He opened his mouth, before closing it again. Finally, he spoke one final sentence. "... You're pathetic, [First Name].

You let them all down. You did.

But it was their fault for placing you on a pedestal.

You squeezed your eyes shut, gritting your pearly-whites as you collapsed against the balcony rail. It was the only thing that held you up anymore. If not for it, you'd have thrown yourself over the side already, too tired to hold yourself up.

The wind picked up, grasping your [hair length] hair and teasing it into a gentle mess. Β

Everything else had let go long ago, allowing you to fall into this black-pit that you wallowed in. With the wind so strong, you could have sworn you felt the balcony railing give a little. If the blizzard kept up in such a way, you might get your wish of disappearing after all.

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in;
Heaven knows I've tried

"HoNK!" The noises sounded like dying wails, echoing off the walls surrounding you. You were scared out of your mind, shoosh-papping the high-blood as he thrashed out of your grasp with insane strength. "H-HoW cOuLd YoU aLl Up AnD--," there was a short pause while your ex-best friend flipped the kitchen table, desecrating your living quarters. Indigo-tinted tears drained from red eyes as the troll turned to stare at you with betrayal in his eyes. "--MOTHERFUCKING gEt To... hOnk... Do ThAt, [FiRsT nAmE]..." The male folded in on himself, sinking to his knees.

Just another mistake, another person too absorbed in their own being to really see you. The real you, the one that was fighting to break the surface, the you that was screaming in your mind. No one saw it. Even now, they never guessed that you had been hurting like this. Drawn down by your burdens, carrying their weights along with your own.

"You! Y8uuuuuuuu!" There it was. You cringed inwardly, steeling yourself for her outburst. You had saw this coming, it seemed so inevitable before. But now that the moment was here... It was harder to brace yourself than you could have imagined and, to make matters worse, Vriska's onslaught had only begun. You could sense her emotion welling up with the way her use of 8's became more liberal--not that you could actually see her words, but you could tell, nonetheless. "I th8ught, aaaaaaaall this time! I th8ght... [F8rst N8me]. You... You don't h8ve to 8e a good pers8n to 8e a her8, 8ut... Y8u'll never 8e a her8, who8v8r it is th8t y8u are."

It was crippling.

Don't let them in,
don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be

'Just leave me alone,' The thought bubbled up your throat, but you found it frozen at the tip of your tongue. Again, not out of the ordinary. You were used to this kind of thing by now.

The mask of strength that you wore, becoming such a part of you that you weren't really sure who you were any more.

The being alone, always and forever.

The heart-aches that you suffered, day in and day out.

Conceal, don't feel,
don't let them know

Tears that you had been too stubborn to let go of had dammed behind your eyelids, only now spilling overboard. Thoughts of your love crowded your brain, pushing you so far beyond grief that you didn't know how it was possible.

All this raw emotion that you felt...

If you didn't know any better, you would have thought you heard him/her calling your name.

Well now they know

Pain invaded your icy heart.

You had kept yourself protected so long, and for what? To hurt everyone you cared about, and to let yourself devolve into each and every one of the terrible things they said you were.

"[First Name]... In My Most Audacious And Discourteous Of Dreams I Cannot Say That I Ever May Have Been On The Brink Of Surmising This To Be Your True Nature," A certain jade-blood averted her eyes, voice faltering. She didn't look mad, not like the others. She stared into space, keeping her gaze on anything but you. Distressed, exhausted by some unseen force, she looked on as if by her lonesome. "I Do Believe... This Is Where Our Relationship Must End."

Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore

With ever-dwindling energy, you reached up with weak arms and grasped the railing.

You heard a voice yelling your name urgently, as if knowing your plan.

It sounded so close, but the wind drowned out any possibility of hearing it again. Just the same, it was most likely your imagination.

Nobody would have cared to see you go.

Nobody would have called your name.

Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door

If you had had the sanity to stay and listen, you'd have heard the opening and closing of doors behind you. In your house, your love rushed around on frantic legs.

Slamming doors and screaming names to no avail.

You were too far gone for your name to reach you, anyways.

The cold had touched your ears, transforming your [skin tone] skin into a bright red. Your nose probably looked reminiscent of Rudolf-the-red-nosed-reindeer by now, but that idea wasn't exactly at the top of your think-pan.

You stopped as you pulled yourself up: one leg first, then the other.

You almost slipped when clambering onto the railing, the cold metal brushing against your soft skin. Not that you should have minded, but for some reason it still scared you.

Did you really want to disappear?

You sat there to ponder this inquiry for a while, unaware of the commotion in your home. Perhaps if you had known that he/she was there, you'd have thrown away such a silly idea and all but throw yourself at the door to get back inside.

Perhaps, but you didn't know, so what other choice did you have?

I don't care
what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on.
The cold never bothered me anyway

"I always loved you, [Crush Name]."

You slowly lowered one leg onto the other side of the railing, easing your foot between two bars. You stood, balancing precariously on the precipice of certain death. Just let go, and you were gone forever.

You stared down into the dark, snowy abyss far below. Your house was built bordering a deep ravine, which was now white and ominous with deep snow. Branches from undergrowth stuck out hither and thither, though it was, for the most part, a vast expanse of icy landscape. Becoming for a moonlit night.

It's funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small

You'd never hurt anyone ever again, you thought. Just take the step.

But you were wrong.

Your one and only finally thought to check out on the patio as a last resort. He/She had not found a trace of you anywhere inside the house, so this was their last chance.

And the fears that once controlled me
Can't get to me at all

Your eyes slipped shut.

You let out a soft breath. It clouded into a small, white puff against the cold, though you didn't see it.

Then the wind blew again, causing you to shudder.

"[Last Name]!?"

And that was when you started to slip.

Thanks so much! I've been on a rather enduring writer's hiatus lately, so I wasn't sure if I would continue with the Let It Go mini-series. However, a lot of people have been asking for Gamzee, so I'll try writing something for him in the future, even if it's not for Let It Go.

Thanks for the support!
