Description
A concept for a new character, who will probably meet with Shadi sooner or later. Probably not in the story I plan to work on, but if (huge "if") I'll ever work on more stories with her, this guy will most likely be part of the character cast.In my fantasy setting wars, pogroms and other shitty events are pretty common, so it's not unusual to meet people who lack a limb or two. For them it's almost impossible to find a job, so they are forced to beg in the streets to survive (and then some kids are purposely crippled by criminal organizations to make them beg...let's not go there.)
This poor kid lost his hand during a massacre of non-humans in the area where he lived. His family was hacked to pieces and he received a nasty cut, and despite managing to escape he was forced to cut off his half-rotten hand and throw it away a few days later.Β Despite this, he still tries to have an optimistic mindset, always looking at the bright side. Not an easy feat.
Anyways, hope you like him and his backstory. I love torturing my characters if that wasn't clear by now.

The story reminds me of The Match Seller by Otto Dix, depicting the disdain the general public had for those crippled by World War 1.
This is a distinctly more upbeat take on one of society's bad habits.
