Colored version!
Made with colored pencils, unfortunately the scanner changed the colours quite a lot making the fur almost red, so I decided to take a picture instead. The scanner seems to work much better with waterolours than pencils...

Scanners seem to either work or they don't XD I always had a hard time adjusting more than just brightness and contrast :/Β

Β but.. I can also totally relate to your pain with scanners.. they have a mind of their own when it comes to tones >8C ...and some tones some scanners aren't even able to pick up that well

Now it isn't, but just because this is a picture. The scanned version was just plain red instead of brown, don't know why. 
...on the other hand the two watercolor drawings I did were scanned quite well, so I really don't know. Perhaps it's because of the pencils?

well, Scanners seem to be masters are reading colors wrong, I notice depending what colors are present it adds a certain tone that is really not present THAT much, for example with my comic pages that have a lot of brown tones and then yellows, they become very yellow, but! when same page has even one spot of redness suddenly it increases the red tones like crazy! (changing the yellows to even slightly orange tones!) Β XD

Definitely not, it works much better with watercolors.Β I tried, but the colors were just too different! The brown was just plain red in the scanned version.Β

The scanner works fine, sometimes it just can't pick a color, no clue why. Even the yellow look too red-ish.

Β At least you only have problems with the scanner, as for me I had to install an old monitor because a blackout damaged my own monitor, and this old one has some problems with the blue colours .
