It would be funny if they were watching Black Christmas! Though I don't recall any scenes that would be bad enough to make Ariel panic like that.


How wonderful it is to have all these guys together! Everyone looks cozy. Jeanette and Roxy are precious as always (adorable mamas <3), it's so good to see Asher and Ariel being snuggle bugs (somethig tells me she'll be up on his lap in a few seconds) and Chal and Azrael look great, too (must be really nice for them to have a moment of peace, what with how hectic their lives can be)! 

Thank you so much for including Asher in this! Not only is is spectacular to see him with his lady love, but it's also great that he's being included with the whole little group of family and friends. It's a beautiful thing.  

PS- I like the whole square/strong jaw thing he has going on here.

Like Kylie said in another post, I feel spoiled on this Christmas  

Kylie pretty much took the words out of my mouth. It's nice to see Azrael in a family setting since it shows that he's being accepted. And I love the overall family setting and how comfortable they all are around each other.

This is absolutely wonderful! It's so sweet to see all three couples having a wonderful Christmas Eve together, watching a good movie. I've been wanting to see Chalice/Azrael or Roxy/Jeanette interacting with their friends as a group; I really need to draw up more art of that, myself. You really can feel the closeness and warmth in the group, and there's a sense of familial feelings with each other.

Only one slight nit pick is that Azrael's eyes are supposed to be completely white, even out of his costume. Other than that, everything is wonderful and I can't thank you enough for drawing this lovely scene!

As for what could've shocked Ariel... hmm... perhaps whoever has the remote, was flipping through the channels, they stumbled upon a horror movie where someone is getting their eye gouged out. Yes, Ariel is into horror films and enjoys gore, but anything with eyes freak her out.

Again, thank you so much for drawing me this and Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Totally forgot that detail. He seems to have his eyes shut in most out-of-costume pictures, so I'm not surprised I spaced it.

I don't blame her. I'm the same way with needle scenes...

No worries; I understand how that could've happened. Doesn't take away from the fact this is still a lovely scene.

Ah yes, I'm still a bit of a wimp when it comes to needles. Though, I'm much better at getting my blood taken now, than I was several years ago. I'll say, Ariel was a bit hyped up for "The Green Inferno" when it premiered (Being a gore hound she is), but nearly lost it at the eye gouging scene.

I had a great day. I went to see Star Wars (loved it!) watched Fury Road again (love that movie too!) and just chilled. How was your holiday?

Absolutely! Anything with eye gouging makes Ariel cringe, that and genital mutilation. Eeeyep, "Green Inferno" turned out to be a HUGE mistake for Ariel.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! I still gotta watch "Fury Road". Do I have to watch the other "Mad Max" films in order to watch this film in particular? Good! We definitely had fun, but we were sad about what's going on with Aunt Debbie and how she wasn't "allowed" to come over for Christmas Eve. I really have grown to hate Larry so much for what he's doing to her.

They technically can be watched out of order! I actually showed my best friend Fury Road first with a lot of details about the premise of the old movies beforehand. 

Though personally I'd watch the original three in order. Well, specifically the first one first. It really gives a window into Max's life, what it used to be and the people he lost. 

But like Diana said they all hold up well enough. My suggestion is to start with the first, though!

So with her on that... I'll take this as a warning not to see Green Inferno!

You don't necessarily have to, but I still recommend them as movies. I avoided them for a long time due to Mel Gibson, but even with him as the central character they're excellent movies. Tom Hardy did a good job taking over the role though, and lack of Mel was a plus for Fury Road. That said if you'd rather not, it's not a requirement to 'get' Fury Road. Each Mad Max movie actually stands very well on its own!

That might be best! The film is supposed to be Eli Roth's homage of sorts to one of his favorite films, Cannibal Holocaust, so yea, plenty of cringe-worthy gore. 

Ah, okay! Thanks for letting me know about that! Yea, anything short of Mel Gibson is always a bonus!   I will be sure to check out "Fury Road", though, since it does look really cool. And because Will said that a lot of the characters I would really like, knowing me well enough by now.

Indeed it is, sadly.  He may not be physically abusive, but emotional abuse is just as worse, if not more so. Honestly, we're kind of planning some kind of intervention of sorts, since we're all deeply worried about Aunt Debbie. I can't stand this, anymore.

The characters are fantastic. The villian is a nasty piece of work (but I love drawing him; that mask is badass), and the women are just wonderful. I think you'll love Furiosa especially. I know I do!

That's a good idea. Emotional abuse can be just psychologically damaging as physical in a lot of cases.

Granted, it's missing the hot cocoa, the blanket big enough to cover them, the roaring fire, the Christmas album playing softly, and the lakeside cabin. But otherwise, it's still a good pic
