Description I took some creative liberty with her outfit since she changed it regularly. I swear she was the only part of Batman and Robin I liked.

Schumacher had been under heavy pressure from the WB studio to do so and said that his films were made intentionally marketable (or "toyetic") and kid-friendly hence why the actors were potrayed so badly.

13foxywolf666 In reply to Shadowhawk27 [2010-10-25 11:10:41 +0000 UTC]

That would explain it. Though I'm sure if they had thought about it they could have pulled that off and had half-way decent performances.

Apparently the design models for the Batsuits, Batmobiles and such were licensed to the merchandisers for toy production and on their way to being completed even before the actual building of the onset suits and vehicles began...

I have to say Uma Thurman was a good choice but her role was like Mae West, she mixes true femininity with the winking womanliness of a drag queen. So distanced you feel like you’re watching her through the wrong end of a telescope.

Poison Ivy's dialogue was a bunch of salacious double entendres related to plants and her vagina which is why that movie sucked. Thank the Force for Christopher Nolan.

Amen about Christopher Nolan. Can't wait for his next installment. I must admit I spent more time staring and drooling at Ivy than I did listening to her lines. I guess that would make the movie experience a little better in a twisted way.

I guessing Chris Nolan again. I hope. It was Batman Begins that sucked me into liking it in the first place even before Dark Knight got me going artistically. He makes it all seem believable, which is rare in comic-based cinema. Although campy comic movies are fun, it's refreshing to see it done in a way that could be possible in realm of reality.

I still have to watch The Dark Knight. I got it on DVD a couple of years ago. I should watch it when I get the chance.

I wonder who the villain will be?

13foxywolf666 In reply to sideshowbobfanatic [2010-10-23 17:19:11 +0000 UTC]

I'm hoping they'll have Oswald in there, and maybe Catwoman. I've heard rumours about the Riddler, but honestly I think they save him for another time if they're planning to do more than three movies. You don't want to cram too many villains into one movie.

I've always liked Poison Ivy, she was one of the characters that inspired me to create Kimmiel. It bothered me that Arnold Swartzeneger's performance of Mr. Freeze was too different from te comics.

I can definitely see the influence. I haven't read the comics yet, but I've heard a lot of the movie characters differ for better or worse. I was kind of neutral when it came to Freeze.

I like the way you drew her.

I never saw Batman & Robin, I only saw The Nostalgia Critic's review of it. Of course I thought it was hilarious. It's a good thing this picture doesn't have a... A BAT CREDIT CARD! (goes nuts with a gun)
That was a line from NC.

I'm sure NC tore it to shreds, and I'd probably agree with him on it. It's a lousy movie. I'm going to end up owning it since it cost mom less to get me the whole set instead of just the first two. I think I'll just skip to Poison Ivy's parts when I watch it next.

Thank you.

Oh, he most certainly did. I do Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze was a really poor casting choice. Freeze is a scientist, and when I look at Arnold, the last word I think of is "Scientist".

You're right. It was actually pretty funny if you just kick back and don't dare take it seriously at any point.
Honestly "governor" wasn't high on my list of nouns to associate with Arnold either, but there you go! In the clips where you see him in regular scientist clothes (think Doof), it actually works. He may have a PhD, but he can also kick your ass.

I saw that picture! T'was awesome. I read somewhere that after Batman and Robin they were meant to do a film with her (as the Joker's daughter seeking revenge rather than cohort/lover) with Man-Bat and Scarecrow. But because Batman and Robin movie wasn't that successful, they kinda dropped it. Such a pity! They might make it in this new movie series though.

Shadowhawk27 In reply to GlassEyedGirl [2010-11-19 13:39:06 +0000 UTC]

Well they sort of did a live action Harley Quinn in that Failed TV series, Birds of Prey. In this show, Harley is portrayed as an older, far more calculating and sinister character than her bubbly comic and cartoon personas. She also does not wear a costume, although she does wear an outfit that is reminiscent of her cartoon costume in the series finale, "Devil's Eyes".

I'm still trying to figure out how they made Uma Thurman, of all people, look so *ugly*. Must be the eyebrows.
Still, nice job on her.
