Description So, this is my first part of rp for the test required to enter the Dunkle Schicksal packen on  stray-city.deviantart.com/

Sort of jumped in here. Guess this is a reply to it:  sedillo-kennels.deviantart.com…

Cold. Everything was bitterly cold. What a horrible winter it had become. It had been summer not long ago. I remembered the warmth of the sun of my pelt as I lied in the soft grasses.

I shivered. That was gone now. Everything that had been was lost. Everything in my world had changed since I had been taken to those dog fights. I had been beaten, whipped, and forced to kill another dog. So many dogs had been locked in crates, and I had managed to escape that dreadful place with a few others. But now, I was utterly alone.

I peered into the white streets, the snowstorm making it difficult to make out anything. The ice shut out all scents, and hearing anything over the wind was nearly impossible. I needed to take shelter, but like always, I had no where to go.

I padded through the snow, making my way out of the city, heading northward. I didn’t know exactly what I expected to find there, but I knew that there was danger east of the city. That’s where I had run into a pack with a vicious alpha. Faas, I think is what his pack had called him. I remembered that he was large, roughly my size, with a chain dangling around his tan-colored neck. I had hunted a rabbit on his territory, and he wasn’t happy about it either. But I hadn’t seen him in a while. Just a grey poodle. A beta, I suppose. I wasn’t accustomed to how packs worked. I had been a lone dog before and after I had been in the dog fights.

But as usual, I was alone. I supposed it would be wise to join a pack, seeing how the winter was turning out. But at what cost would that be? A loss of freedom. Having to follow another’s command. I sighed, and continued on. However, I longed for another’s company.

Suddenly, the wind hit my face. It had been behind me the whole time, but now it was against me. Nothing seemed to be in my favor today. I pushed through the storm, still.

Some dogs would call this stubbornness. I called it determination.

After a bit more trekking, I caught a scent on the wind. Another dog? No, no. There were two scents. Two more dogs. Both female.

I followed the scents, though they were both quite hard to make out. Finally, I could make out two silhouettes against the white. One was dark, nearly black, with a very thin and tall frame. The other had lighter, longer fur and she was also thin, but not as much. I stayed silent as I neared them.

I stayed downwind of them and behind snow banks. If they were part of a pack, they may not be welcoming to me. When I was close enough, I could hear that they were talking, though I couldn’t make out their words.

I risked a peek at them. I flattened my ears in effort not to be seen, but I was rather curious about the two dogs. I lifted my head so that I could just see them from behind the snow bank.

The thin, dark one was almost black. She had a burgundy colored bandana around her neck and a bit of white below it. She stood proud and tall, with powerful leg muscles. Part Doberman, I guessed. By her stance, I could imply that she was of high rank.

I averted my gaze towards the other dog. She was a tawny color with a white underside and slightly darker back. Around her neck was a black collar with rhinestones and a gold colored tag. Curious. I wondered where she could have gotten something like that. Must have been a house dog once. Her fur was longer and she had short, pointed ears. A husky, most likely. But she was skinny. I could make out her ribs. The winter must have been hard on her. And there was a scar above her left eye. Curious. Very curious.

As I observed them, I noticed a building in the background. It looked strange to me, as it was very large. Few city buildings were ever big, and never this big. I began to hear barking, which came from the building.

They are part of a pack, I thought. Perfect. Now I’m an intruder again.

As I turned to leave, the wind shifted, coming again from the south.

A growl rose behind me. “Kyoto,” the voice growled. “There’s someone here.”

I fell still as I heard paws coming towards me. As I slowly looked back, I saw dark paws on the snow bank. There, standing above me, was the large, black female staring directly into my eyes.
