it looks really nice.
though I kind of understand that you don't like the hair. the way you colour it is really cool but between the two shiny... places..(?) on the right side it looks like there's a dent. and the top of the hair, again right side, is a bit high.
other than that I can't help but stare at the shadow the cigarette creates on the bottom lip. maybe make it a bit softer? because like this I thought the cig was glued to the lip in the first moment I saw the picture.
what I really like is your overall colouring technique, the nose and the strong jaw.

secondly, you hit the nail on the head with just why i hate the hair. i tried doing hair a bit differently from normal and it backfired spectacularly xD so i will changing it completely
thirdly, i have (hope i have xD) ammended the cigarette shadow issue, is it better now?
i have to tell you that it was bothering me also but i just hoped no one would notice xD no tricking you eh ;D
lol, you also pointed out one of my favourite things about the pic, the nose. (although i have been thinking about making the shadow under it slightly darker *shrug*)

okay, you got me looking at the pic thoroughly for a second time.
the hair: why did you change the colour? (or is it just because I'm using a different screen this time?) I thought the brown tone was better. the red clashes with the eye colour. at least for me.
maybe you could try bending the *counts* third strand more to the left instead of the right?
cigarette shadow: hmmm... it's definitely softer now and suits the pic better.
nah, I'm still too inexperienced as to pretend that someone cannot trick me.
ah, the nose! yep, you should make the shadow under it a shade darker. hm, just try it out, I would say, if it doesn't work you can always change it back.
