Why does it look like that pony is thrusting its enormous boner at the viewer?

Nice link in EQD, that's how I got here lol.
Very ambitious perspective, ponies are hard enough to draw normally let alone with weird angles, keep doing stuff like this and you'll get way better, and don't try to avoid it; Honestly I've seen worse perspective out of professional artists they're just way better at covering it up with shiny sparkles.
A useful way to practice perspective, especially for something like this piece would be to:
Buy Gmod, download pony models, pose ponies appropriately, use various camera and lighting tools to get a good reference, practice with new reference guide.
Seriously it's a big help especially for tough shots but remember that it's just for practice and for learning only, don't actually reply on it since the physics, models, and poses aren't remotely accurate enough to depend on so don't use it as a crutch.
Still it beats trying to find an actual model or similar visual reference to make the pose for you especially considering how hard it is to find a PONY to pose for you.
Keep up the good work and don't stop improving.

I agree with boomer about EQD. Heck, even some of my stuff got rejected
Anyways, I'm not good with critiquing, but I'll give it a go. I could see how drawing ponies in 3 point perspective like you have done can be hard to execute. For a first time, this is actually pretty good. Just be cautious about proportions when dealing with it. RD is well done, but Twilight is off, her body and neck specifically. If you drew her alot closer, the length of her neck would then be appropriate, and her body, as well. If you are going to do something similar, take alot of time simply outlining where you think they should be proportioned before you start shading, until you're fairly sure you got it right. After all, it's extremely hard to get things perfect in 3 point perspective (unless it's a building or a similar shaped object).
Aside from that, It's nice! The shading adds alot to the depth you have created, and I just love RD's expression. Good job!

Sorry to say but I highly doubt that this will make it to EQD. Things that are submitted get quality checked by the mods and there is just a lot of stuff out there that's better than this. You show potential though, my advice is to practice with getting the anatomy right and building up to more ambitious stuff. Keep at it. Here are some of my thoughts on how you could improve on a future piece.
Negative/Constructive (in order of importance) - The legs and Twi's neck are completely out of proportion with their bodies. The bottom Twi's cutie mark should appear under Dash's arm. Those three lines on the iris's, if they're what I think they're supposed to be, just look weird in a non-colored drawing and their role is better filled by shading. Twilight's smile is really hard to see against the white background. Dash's upraised cheek kinda looks like a second nose. Twi's forehead is just a bit too large. Dash's hoof stretched really far (this is acceptable though and fairly common, just something to keep in mind).
Positive/Complementary - Adding shadows was a nice detail. The eyes look pretty good overall. It's TwiDash and that is amazing. You did a really good job on the shading.

i uploaded another in this style just now. can you tell me if i fixed the proportion problem. i cant see anything wrong with the new one. sure it could use a few more takes on the same thing, but over all it seems fine. i would really appreciate it. not a critique, just let me know if i got the shape down better.

what is it they say,
"try try again"?
i think i will take that advice for once. thanks for taking the time too look at this.
also the reason so many things are out of proportion is because i have seen similar disfigurements in the show when ever the ponies are moving strange ways. for example, sometimes the animators invert the elbows and things like that to make the ponies seem more flexible. Now that you mention it though, i do realize i took too much of a liberty with that fact. i'll tone it down next time.
thank you for commenting. i wouldn't have noticed most of those without a second opinion.thanks again

What I meant by "out of proportion" is that you drew the bodies like those of a normal sized pony while the legs are sized for a filly (extending the legs alone would go a long way to making things look more realistic). And Twi's neck was extended to display the contact point for Dash's leg when it really should be about half the size it is now.
Glad I could help.

Yes, I found your link on your comment on EQD. It's a very cute drawing and I like it.
Kind of a chibi version of the ponies, but not overdone. Nice work!
