Clark's powers had revealed to him that Norman Osborn had been working with the criminal mastermind known as the Kingpin. Kingpin was tried of Superboy interfering in his business and asked Norman to created something to destroy him. Clark tried to warn Peter and get his help but Peter didn't believe him. Peter thought Clark was jealous that for once someone saw the greatest in him then Clark. Meanwhile, Norman was desperate and experimented on himself turning himself into the Green Goblin equipping himself Kryptonite weaponry he got from Alistair Smythe he set out on his mission. In an equip battle between the two Norman ultimately accident took his life. When Harry learned of what had happened he became enraged and disappeared. It was later learned that in Norman's will he wrote Peter as the sole beneficiary to everything. He really did see Peter as more of a son then Harry. Peter heavily blamed what had happened on Clark for what had happened to Norman and Harry before they could work it out Clark seemingly also vanished.
