This is my entry to ChaoticallyWicked 's DTIYS - 400 watchers raffle !

Again, congrats for this milestone!

And I hope you like my interpretation.

If you cross these woods, be gentle, be cautious.

Don't mean any harm, don't be loud.

You will travel safe, as long as you travel with respect through her territory.

Otherwise...

Maybe you hear cluttering hoofs as a warning, maybe some rustle of leaves.

But more likely you will not hear her coming, slinking on silent paws or feet.

As soon as she catched you there will be nothing left that anyone could find.

Only fallen leaves, moss and mushrooms, keeping the peace of the woods. Preserving the circle of life.

I don't know much about her, but she's a really fascinating character!

Some words about my drawing:

Ooph, that was an amount of details and a pose/ an angle, gosh, I was struggling a lot.

Don't get me wrong. This character is wonderful and once I had an idea how to draw her and how my workflow could be it was fun too!

But this project was a bit too huge for me. Ate all my free time since I finished my last drawing. I was in despair for some time, doubting I will ever finish this...

And in the end I even tried to draw her with a background.

I think I'm a bit insane.

I had planned to not whine about my drawing/ drawing process, but... I put so much work and time into this drawing and there's still so much that should be better.

The perspective regarding the background, her anatomy (and I had a wonderful reference !), my attempt to give her different structures for fur/ cloth/..., that failed (at least in parts),...

Yeah, I know, I know, I should stop the whining. You're all tired of me talking my work down. I'm too. It just feels so frustrating.

I'm okay with the result and some parts even make me proud. But there's no balance between how hard I try and what I produce (in my eyes).

And then there was this drawing course where the teacher said: It's not art if you use references in this way. (Speaking of tracing, or even using the exact same pose as in the reference.) Well, I get it. I would never sell something for that I used a "heavy" reference. But to say it's not art? This piece I drew here, with all the work and thoughts I put in it, it's... nothing?

I'm over it now, but that was a huge throwback for me and I wanted to stop drawing for a moment.

Yes, I can be a bit overly dramatic too.

I often say "I have no own style (yet)" or "I'm no real artist". And every time I try to see it more positive, something like this happens and I think "Oh, okay, I was right. It's better I don't waste my time anymore and just stop".

But I don't want to.

So.

That's it.

I don't want to stop drawing. I think some people are happy when I draw something for them, even if it's far away from perfect.

That's enough.

And I can write this now, because of the wonderful support of some awesome people I have around me (here on dA, yes, talking about you).
