HE'S FINALLY FINISHED!!!Christ, it has taken so long to get this guy finished and glazed. I think my hand cramped and died while hand painting this guy with glaze.
This is my epic gargoyle fountain. The gargoyle is sculpted and his base is wheel thrown. The dish is removable from the pedestal.
Sooooome daaaayyyy when I get my online shop up, I will be taking orders for one of these. However each one will be different. I don't ever make the same one twice. The only thing that will keep similar is the body because I made my own mold that I can alter in any way I need.

Honestly, I couldn't say with accuracy, being this is my first endeavor in either arena. It's going to be a blast, either way. ^_^ I'll definitely post some pics when I'm able.

I wonder how you made a fountain out of it...
You see, I don't know a thing about pottery (except that I'm not very good at it) so maybe it's kind of a dumb question, but I've always wondered how a fountain is made...
Care to - try - explain it to me?

Oh believe me that is not a stupid question! D; I had to have my teacher show me how he made his, and what I needed.
So I made a mold out of the body, so I could reproduce it, and it makes the piece hallow without the possibility of cracks. Then when I made the neck and head I hallowed it out by hand and made sure I made it big enough for the tube that runs up it. You have to make sure the hole on the bottom of the piece is big enough for the pump.
It isn't that special of a pump, I got it from the pet store. xD
Then I pretty much just winged it with the pedestal and bowl. How's that? I hope I explained it better. If you want I could add more detail but I don't want to bore you. Hur hur
