I agree about the color brown=fallish
it was a little late for my suggestion xD
As for the winter, an owl sounds great! Perhaps put some blueish purples in them. Of course, you can do as you want xD
My mom suggested rabbits and horses
horses=Wild, free spirited.
I was thinking more reptilian since they like to bask in the sun. xD
my mom also said butterflies but I wasn't sure if it would fit into your theme of animals.
