Presenting my fourth submission for the Ladies of Gundam project, a project that will feature a series of portraits of female characters from the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise...
For this entry, it's a realism portrait of Relena Peacecraft (a.k.a. Relena Darlian) from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. I wanted to make her eyes stand out to give her that regal and pampered look seeing as how she's royalty and all. I loved painting her hair, it's just so straight and clean. I hope you like this rendition.

One thing about Relena: she's the most un-princess like princess ever. She believes in her heart that a person's family, background and circumstances don't matter, and that we should all be friends. That's why I hate those "Relena hates all the Gundam pilots" fanfics; it's just NOT her.

Well... I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Relena isn't really the most un-princess princess ever like you said. The "Rogue Princess" has been a popular role/trope in various Gundam series. It has been a tradition and Relena is just one as such... and practically not the most.
Before Relena, there was Princess Artesia Som Deikum, known to many as Sayla Mass (MSG). Then there's Mineva Lao Zabi (Zeta/ZZ/Unicorn), princess of Zeon. Then there's Berah Ronah, known to many as Cecily Fairchild (F91). Not only do these three consider their royal or aristocratic lineage irrelevant and give more value their family and friends, they actually enter the battlefield and spreads the message of peace and prosperity as civilians.
Most of them forfeited their title and just lived as common civilians... while Relena became Queen of Earthsphere. After Gundam Wing, the trope was carried on to Dianna Soriel (Turn A), Cagalli Yula Atha (SEED), Marina Ismail (00), etc. Some of them are even more of an un-princess than Relena.

LOL... Sorry to disappoint you though... because I'm not really into the whole Heero x Relena thing. For me, their chemistry is kinda stale. Regardless, I like Relena more as a dominant political figure rather than a spoiled rich kid who waits for a guy to kill her. XD Thus, the facial expression on the painting.

As I have said in in the description, I loved painting Relena's hair. I actually love painting hair. It's the most fun part to make in every realism artwork I make.
