I understand there’s a lot of hate for Space Dandy already… I’m afraid I love it.
This is Dandy, the main character of a new anime by the creators of Cowboy Bebop. Dandy is an arrogant sleaze with no real likeable qualities, and I think he’s great!
I think one of the reasons I love the show is that it’s not a conventional anime, which is why I liked Cowboy Bebop also. It doesn’t take itself seriously – that’s what makes it fun.
Anyway, this guy was great to draw. Excuse to do some crazy perspective on a twisted pose and combine it all with some awesome space colours!

I've seen through the first season on Netflix and while pretty light for the most part, has a lot of mind blowing animation and art direction.

Just S1 is available on Netflix, with one of the better episodes being the Groundhog Day one. I'm very glad to watch it but don't like it enough to keep on Blu-Ray (like Cowboy Bebop).

Yeah I agree. There's probably one or two really great episodes, but looking back the rest are just ok. But I loved watching it for the art style as you said

I think overall the first season was the best. They seemed to have gotten off track somewhere in the 2nd season. Not that the 2nd season was bad but it was like okay Dandy has gone from being alien hunter to space fisher and then some random episodes that didn't correlate at all. Lol Hope they make a 3rd season.

I don't hate the show, I just do not like it.
(to me, those ARE 2 different things)
Unlike Cowboy Bebop, it (SD) failed to hook me with the 1st episode.
For me, I feel that it's kind of like that old movie: "The Road To El Dorado"
It is absolutely beautiful to look at, but just not fun to watch.
I've already DVR'd several episodes so that I can watch them consecutively.
So I may yet change my mind about the show later.
We'll see.

I was honestly a bit unsure on the first episode, but watching the second one I realised it didn't take itself seriously then I started to really enjoy it. It's stupid and they know it

I think people are hating the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously. For example, how they all die at the end of EP1, but they're all back again next episode... Personally that's what I love about it
