Description Instead of working on things, I'm playing with pencils.

I'm not satisfied with the way the water turned out, but I like the piece in general.

Colored pencils?
Ha. You can't fool ME!
No, really. This is so excellent - I love it. The water is reflective, and pretty, there's shading, details, everything. Very, very good. The perspective might be slightly off though... The fish seem slightly angled, yet the lily pads look as if you're looking straight down.

And I think that the water looks
amazing, too.

I think it looks very cool. Maybe making some circular distortion on the fishes would help for the underwater effect
Other than that, this piece is really awsome, the coloring looks so beautiful

The texture is gorgeous~ especially on the leaves. :3 And actually I really like the water. It's not the most watery water ever, but the pattern is really cool looking. I like the soft colors, too.

great work
maybe you could have blended the water a little more or put another layer over the Kois for being more content with it.
I like it the way it is, the water looks fantastic

This is wonderful.

I disagree with you, I think this is an incredibly unique and beautiful way of drawing water. It makes the image feel fragile and natural.

Very nice work.

(No, don't ever stop being awesome really. D

I love koi fish, they have really supper creepy faces. The strokes give a lot of movement to the picture. Great job.

When I saw this in my Deviant Watch inbox I went "wow". It really is beautiful. As usual, your colours are a strong point. I think the water looks best in the upper left corner, where it's simpler and the drawing is cleaner. In the more turbulent areas is where it runs into difficulty. The photo might have been a false friend, supplying too much detail?

I love the scales of the koi! Very detailed. <33

I think using wider ripples in the water would work better, as well as circular ripples over-lapping. Reference photos are a godsend, lol. >w< <3

The worst thing, I did use a ref photo. It just didn't turn out too good.

I hate when that happens - I haven't worked from a photo in a while, so I think I'm getting rusty, too. ><

Well, this is gorgeous with or without the ref! <33
