I know a lot of you Hakuouki fans hate Chizuru, but I always really liked her. Especially when she took a level in badass in Hekketsuroku, in Episode 3 and beyond. People see her as too weak and whiny, and a total Mary Sue, but I disagree. Even though she's a demon, she isn't particularly stronger than any of the Shinsengumi in battle. If she was, I would probably boycott the whole franchise. People don't give her credit where it's due. Sure, she cooks and cleans, but as somebody in a similar profession, everybody has to mop floors at some point, and if you're not set for combat, you're probably going to be doing that every day. Heck, wasn't there even an episode where the officers had to clean the barracks?
In addition, Chizuru obviously is privy to very classified information, which also makes her a great asset. I just wish the Hakuouki franchise and fans took more time with her character, because she is obviously, despite her mouselike manners, a very stubborn and ballsy lady.
It doesn't hurt that she's cute, either.
