Description
I switch off the light as I enter the room,to hide my face;
to hide my shame.
I don't want you to see me
while I am crumbling.
Sometimes I wish I had a door to hide behind;
my own lock and key.
But we're in this together,
ever since
you let me into your home.
Perhaps it's better
that there's nowhere to hide,
forcing me to face my demons
with a hand to hold
and a heart to collapse into.
It's hard to break the cycle
when you are so frequently alone.
