Nine lights change simultaneously;the stop and start of urban wheels.
Water sprays above and below,
heeding only to bridges
and veiling the skies.
From car to train to rain-soaked boot,
the journey takes place in liquid and cold.
The money you handed me may ease the pain
but the rain goes on,
unaware of the droplet which winds its way
along the ivory contours of this face.
