Really nice tutorial.
I have one question though..what settings/textures do I need to use for the plane to achieve that reflecting effect?(the little rays on the sides). I did everything like the tutorial said...but didn't get it quite right.

its a really good to learn 3dsmax but when i tried it, it turn out wrong and the ball was light blue like a glowing blue. so i tried to fix it then i quit.
