Yeah almost everyone in naruto has a sad bg but I think Gaara's is at least one of the saddest ;A; (I think it's the saddest but maybe there's one I don't remember who knows?) how far have you watched it btw? I'm on the shipuden chunin exams at the sand village so far~

...I mean Gaara was like an Experiment to his dad, and after he was born,
his father regretted doing that and wanted to destroy him even if he spoiled him..Thats what i remember. and it just more sad
