Description I said in my journal that I would upload one photograph a month, so here I am squeezing it in.

I can't say that the subject matter here is that original, but this is for those living in the Northern Hemisphere, especially England where it has just been raining, grey and miserable.

It states that I took this photo on October 15, 2009. Yes, I did. It has been 5 years already.

I like the photograph simply because of the colours - everything here is so natural (merry old England eh? Gotta love it ) and untouched. I especially like how the camera has the raindrops on the lens, which give a strong semblance of "fruitful life" in a place where it rains quite often (I don't mind rain, personally - I prefer rain over summers ).

Β

All in all, a good photograph

3wyl In reply to Chezzy-Am [2014-02-20 17:43:10 +0000 UTC]

The colours are pretty awesome, yes! There is something with the 'green' colour, I think. I hear that green is good for the eyes too.

The colours are certainly something here in England, compared to the US, I thin.

Rain isn't too bad, so long as it isn't constant. England being England, we've had rain constantly for a while now.

Thank you for the comment!

Gosh, 5 years! That's a long time. Β

This is beautiful though. I've always thought that rain on grass is a gorgeous combination in the sunlight, and this photo has a wonderful, glittering beauty. The depth of field and the brightness of the green are lovely.Β

The rain at the here moment is yucky though.

I love how you squeezed a submission into January, by the way. Very sneaky, hehe.

It is a long time, and yet it feels like it has gone by too quickly!

Yes, I do agree with you! Perhaps not even in the sunlight, but sunset and sunrise as well, maybe.

I think we've received too much rain.

Too many days of overcast weather too, really. =/

Kamal-Q [2014-02-01 12:10:24 +0000 UTC]

I think the way you've got that one three leaf clover in focus gives this shot a fun feel. Coupled with the bokeh and mix of green-blues it makes me think of spring (though looking at the exif you shot this in October - still I refuse to bend to winter - SPRING FOREVER )

Its almost like that one in-focus clover is jumping for joy, or maybe its like a kid riding on his father's shoulders, or maybe a happy dictator So many possiblities

Lovely shot (seems you've been shooting better photos than me for longer than me - I'm so jelly )

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

3wyl In reply to Kamal-Q [2014-02-06 17:33:00 +0000 UTC]

The focus on the clover was complete luck, I think. I remember taking this shot, somewhat, and not paying attention to the grass itself, as such.. just randomly shooting and whatnot.

The bokeh is great, I agree.

You and me both where Spring is concerned. It couldn't come soon enough nowadays.

However, grass is often alive and kicking throughout the year, I thought.

I really like the imagery there! I can see how it may be 'fun' in that sense.

Naww.. as if you're jelly about that.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kamal-Q In reply to 3wyl [2014-02-07 12:50:23 +0000 UTC]

Its not easy to remember things that are 5 years ago Maybe it was luck, maybe your subconscious was feeling happy?

Spring is looming around the corner - and then summer I can't wait for the heat and humidity

I suppose grass is always around, though in winter and summer, it changes colors a bit - and maybe even the texture, no?

How do you know what I'm jelly and not jelly of?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

3wyl In reply to Kamal-Q [2014-02-09 13:28:42 +0000 UTC]

Hmm.. with every year that passes, it becomes more and more difficult to remember things that have happened in the past, not only because there is more distance where time is concerned, but also because of how our brains function.

Maybe my subconscious was feeling alive and carefree?

Spring better arrive soon!

Summer can't come fast enough.

NO HUMIDITY! >:C

Yes, it may change colour and texture a bit, but I think it's about the same. The main thing is the timing, no?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kamal-Q In reply to 3wyl [2014-02-09 15:16:24 +0000 UTC]

I don't know about that, I don't think memories are stored chronologically (we're not computers). Its why I can remember certain events in the last week of June 2012 - but I can't for the life of me remember particulars of, say, the last week of April 2012

Alive and carefree in the misty October grass perhaps

HUMIDITY IS GOOD FOR YOU - SWEAT OUT ALL THE BAD STUFF >:C

I don't know man, caterpillars and dragonflies would strongly disagree with you about the nature of grass over the seasons

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

3wyl In reply to Kamal-Q [2014-02-10 09:11:41 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps it's not linear. We remember some things from way back, but not some things in between, and so on.

Can't really compare the last week of June 2012 to a random day.

Yeah.. that sounds awfully idealistic.

NO! NO SWEATING!

Not sure if one is sweating out the bad stuff. Surely, it'd be better in a more concentrated way, such as a sauna or something.

Caterpillars only like leaves!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kamal-Q In reply to 3wyl [2014-02-10 11:22:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah.. that sounds awfully idealistic.

I don't know - maybe blades of grass can't help but be awfully idealistic

Pssshh, a sauna is just a very humid room And also, lawn caterpillars love grass Β edis.ifas.ufl.edu/in608
