very nice shot
have you converted your camera to shoot IR photos ?

Yes, that is correct. I converted a used version of my camera to shoot IR photos, and have the same camera to shoot normal photos.

that's cool , and which IR filter do you use ?Β
I have one filter (72 i guess) but i have to shoot for like 30 sec and then do some post work becuase my camera isn't converted
one of the photos i tookΒ

but lately , i use the IR filter to shoot very long exposure shots and turn it to B&W

I don't use an external one - my camera was converted on the inside. Infrared is 590nm to retain that bit of color.

Yes, that's understandable with an external filter. Do you think you'll do a full camera conversion to infrared, or stick with the filter?

Black and White would look pretty good, I think!

hmm, i thought that after the conversion you need IR filter on the lens to pass only IR frequenciesΒ

i wish i have another one converted, any Nikon recommendations ? something not very expensive though Β

here is one of the B&W i took with IR

No, after the conversion, your camera can't shoot normal photographs any more - just infrared. The filter is put inside the camera, which means less time needed to shoot something (as opposed to a filter in front of the lens).

You put an IR filter on the lens to pass IR frequencies if the camera isn't converted. That way, you can still shoot normal photos too.

I would suggest buying a used camera and doing the conversion on that one.

That's pretty nice!

but if you put the IR filter inside, you'll be limited to the frequency inside, 590nm for exmple, but if you used lens filters , you'll have more choices , right ?
i'm not sure but i'm just guessing Β

well, i like the B&W ones specially the long exposured , and also the 590nm after swapping the channels like it's shown in the comparison in that link
