This is wonderful! How did you achieve the forestry on the bottom? Were you using loose charcoal?

The forest effect was achieved by interaction between texture of the paper and of the charcoal. Two types of charcoals was used on the forestry, assorted H-B graph pencil was used on the castle. The two charcoals are graphite powder compost and burned wood they are for the darker and lighter effects. You can try this yourself, make sure the charcoal has a surface, about an area of finger tip, do not use edge or pointy end, lightly rub the charcoal surface on the paper in circular motion, repeat on the same area and increase pressure as you see fit. Low pressure produce sparse charcoal mark with less uniform spots, high pressure produce dense charcoal mark with more uniform spots. Repeat this with a variety of combination, you will get a result that vaguely resemble a forest. Keep in mind that this technique only works for view from a distance with trees densely packed.
