The night before I drew this, I had a semi-nightmare. I was editing the OoT bosses and so making them more realistic than their N64 counterparts (I haven't played OoT on the 3DS yet). It was a kind-of lucid dream until I got to Bongo Bongo. My dreams keep getting more creepy and less trippy. I'm mildly worried.Once I imagined him as something akin to this, he grabbed me and threw me into the boss battle.
But then I had to go to calculus. I'm not sure which I would have preferred.
Also in my dream, I turned my sandals into the hover boots with super glue and a torch.
Does this need a mature filter? I mean, it's not realistic in the slightest, but still.
Man, Bongo Bongo looks like he's rockin' out to something.

Saw your reddit post. I also suffered nightmares in my early childhood due to Bongo-Bongo. We should set up a counseling group. This is awesome and terrifying. It's like if Bongo-Bongo was a Dread Zombie from Oblivion.

I would have MUCH preferred this version of Bongo Bongo. Dead hand was fucking scary. He would grab you and eat your face right off your skull. Compared to the bloody fleshy blob of pain and despair that is dead hand, Bongo Bongo seemed like, meh. Plus Bongo Bongo isnt a very scary name :/ I like this version much better

I think "Bongo Bongo" was an allusion to the fact that it was playing the bongos. And there's only so much gore one can add in a rated E game, lol.

Ya but they got away with walls made of human skulls and bloody hand monsters. Not that Bongo Bongo was bad, I just think they could have done better :/

Well you kind of see skeletal depictions everywhere, even in cartoons, so I don't think that's judged as a very big deal. And there's barely any blood in OOT, and especially due to the graphics it's hard to peg as blood or something else.

Bongo Bongo still managed to give me nightmares years after playing OoT (though this was the first nightmare I've ever had with him in it), so maybe he wasn't all that bad. The N64 graphics left a lot to the imagination (like, was his skin rotting? And that was supposed to be a flower? I always thought it was flesh and tattered skin. I was very imaginative when I was young).
But yeah, the Shadow temple was a bit of a horror trip and then you get this guy... playing a drum.
A truly horrific boss would have been the metaphorical icing on the Shadow Temple cake.

Totaly, theres always a bit of horror in Zelda games, and (at least to me) Dead Hand is the king of Zelda Horror. I even did my own re imagining of him [link] We think alike, peeling skin, exposed bones, bloody stumps
So Im playing OoT, and I head down the well... when all of a suden
