I watched the movie in theaters yesterday.I spent around 4897230948 hours attempting to draw the beast but he kept looking just plain hideous. It didn't work with my style. So I gave up and made him some weird beast-human-hybrid thingy. Like he doesn't even look like Prince Adam so what is he even I don't know. orz.
It's not the disney beauty and the beast, okay! It's my own interpretation, okay!! yeesh.

I'm gonna quote myself here:
"Out of all the older "princess" movies, my favorite is by far "Beauty and the Beast".
It was a groundbreaking movie, doing what no other Disney Princess ever did at a time and showing that you CAN make a movie that sticks close to the Disney "whimsical" formula while still having a mature and likable product.
Belle is, by far, one of the best Disney Princesses (if not THE best, considering I've never seen Tiana in the mechandising). She's actually a commoner (she's a princess by marriage, and that only happens at the very end), but unlike Cinderella, she has goals in life, she has dreams other than "I want to marry a prince and live happily ever after". She wants to see the world, she wants to read, to study, to learn, she wants to be smart. Even her relationship with Beast is not really romance, but rather Belle bringing out the best in beast while accepting who he is.
Beast is, by far, one of the most relatable Disney characters. Yeah, sometimes he comes across as petty and selfish, but deep down, he just wants to be left alone. THAT, I can relate to, better than anyone. He doesn't stand for the usual Disney "wacky"/"whimsical" bullshit, and that makes me like him a lot. In fact, the whole movie is like that: watch "Be My Guest". Both Belle and Cogsworth are clearly annoyed and shocked by the musical number, and doing everything they can to stop it. And when the Beast shows up, it stops immediately. And that's the thing: the movie has the usual Disney "wackiness"/"whimsicalness", but the fact that there are characters who are clearly annoyed by it actually makes it bearable. And the Beast does have a soft heart and a gentle soul, all Belle does is bring it out on the surface.
And Gaston is a great Disney villain. He's not a sorcerer or a lion or a demon or a god, he's just a sexist, selfish, dimwitted guy who only wants Belle as a trophy wife. That, in my opinion, is far more evil, I'd be more scared of Gaston that I would ever be of Jafar or Ursula or Maleficent.
Finally, it has one of the best main song in the Disney Animated Canon. It, along withy "Arabian Nights" is one of the few Disney songs you can hear over and over again, it never feels out of place and it fits the mood of the movie perfectly:

Wow, yeah I'll agree with you on a lot of that. My friends and I were watching the movie, and especially the mob song, the lyrics are unsettling. The part about, "We don't like What we don't understand, In fact it scares us" it speaks a lot to human nature as well as the group mentality, which is really quite frightening.
I'm not sure if I would say that it's the best Disney movie; I haven't seen the others in a very long time. But it was definitely a very very good movie. And I do love belle as a princess and the Beast as well.
