Ahd can appear to be an introvert to those who first meet her due to her quiet demeanor. However, upon closer inspection the opposite is true. Ahd is in actuality arrogant and self-defensive, and if she feels threatened she quickly becomes aggressive. She has a penchant for violence even without provocation, and often gets into altercations, or looks for them. Ahd will often resort to intimidation to take out her competition, in reality looking for another good fight. She is largely unattached to material things as well as people, and it can be very hard to get into her good graces. If, however, one manages to gain her affection, she becomes extremely protective over one.

Even though Ahd does not attach herself to people, she isn't abrasive (unless she's looking for that fight), and she isn't difficult to get along with. She can be a flirt without realizing it, and that coupled with her desire for battle, it can be said Ahd shouldn't be taken too seriously. Despite the fact she prefers to act alone, when she's asked for help or given the order in team fights Ahd proves to be a good anvil against which the hammer can strike, or vice versa.

Ahd was born and raised within the confines of the outermost Wall Maria. There, she lived with her parents and her three older brothers in the heart of the city where they worked as merchants. Being the only girl in the family didn’t stop Ahd from following her brothers around and they often found trouble with other kids. By the time that Ahd reached the age fourteen, she had fallen in with a crew of her own. Her friends, and one of her older brothers, had always talked about migrating into the inner walls, where the riches were more and the fun was better. One day, they all agreed to go through.

Having left her parents and two of her brothers, Ahd and her second eldest brother, Tariq, became as tight-knit as ever, and watched each other’s backs as they and the rest of the crew braved the inner Wall Rose. As youths without jobs or friends within the city, they were met with many hardships, and eventually resorted to joining a gang with the settlement’s underground to get around and learn more about the city. Tariq did as he felt he had to do to watch over his sister, but Ahd quickly realized that she had a knack for violence on the streets, and quickly became a valuable ally to have within the gang.

One day, the gang leader made a proposal to his underlings that would directly affect innocents. Tariq immediately felt it was a bad idea, and argued the point. His argument didn’t last long before the boss began to abuse him into submission, and having seen this, Ahd took action against him. Through her use of cunning and agility--as well as the skill she learned during her time with the gang--Ahd beat back the gang leader. She took Tariq and fled headquarters. The pair vowed that they would not associate with those types of groups again, and decided that they would return to the outer wall after having had a jaded time within Wall Rose.

The following morning, Tariq would not wake up, at the hands of the gang Tariq and Ahd had served.

Ahd woke up two seconds too late, and while she was able to escape, she was not able to save her brother. She nearly fled back to her parents, but filled with anger and hatred, she set out on a personal vendetta to eliminate the gang she was once a vital part of.

She slowly worked up the spectrum until the number of missing gang members became notable, and the boss finally decided Ahd needed to be dealt with. Throughout the course of her revenge, however, Ahd had discovered that her rage had caused her to develop a perverse pleasure in violence. A gang fight that was put out purposefully to eliminate Ahd turned out to be the demolition of a gang.

The Stationary Guard found her bloodied after the battle, and immediately took custody of her. Ahd proved to be a threat to humanity, since she confessed to being a part of the gang previously, and proved her aggressive nature by subduing the men the Guard found her with. Having discovered that she just helped jail a large part of a long-time crime syndicate, however, the Legion decided that her skills might be put to better use, only against a different enemy. With the recent breach of Wall Maria, the Legion gave her two options: face jailing and possible execution, or become a trainee.

After four years with the Scouting Legion, Ahd has accumulated a total of nine titan kills and twelve more assists. Fighting titans still proves to be a challenge for her, but she feels that another year or two will make her the champion of the slaying game. She has not found out what became of her parents or her brothers after Wall Maria was abandoned, and would rather not know either way, too ashamed to bring them news of what happened to both her and Tariq. To avoid making more trouble while the Scouting Legion is home, she often recluses herself at base.

Ahd had no real choice in the matter. As she was a threat to humanity, she faced sufficient time in jail or death, and was not particularly keen on either option. Although facing titans might also mean death, she would rather work for the cause of protecting innocents, to use the life her brother did not get to live. Not to mention the fact that fighting titans would provide a new game unlike any she had played before.

The air is as crisp as the night is black. Scattered stars help the moon light the brown cobble as boots that match it march up the street. Another sleepless night, another aimless trek. The movement is good, but it's not enough. Ahd catches sight of her breath misting as she turns her head to the left. A scuff on the ground, and an urgent voice trying to whisper over another one. The woman switches her direction and follows the sounds, feeling a smirk tug at the corner of her lips. There, beneath the eaves of an already darkened house, a cutthroat with a man at his mercy.

"If you're looking for some fast cash, I promise you this is not the way to get it," Ahd says just above a whisper, her voice a velveteen caress in the silence of the night.

The cutthroat lets his captive go in his momentary surprise, and stares wide-eyed as he recognizes the uniform of the Scouting Legion.

He turns to run, but Ahd doesn't let him.

A swift swing of the arms claps the man around his ears, causing him to drop his knife and stumble. A sweep of the leg takes him off his feet, and Ahd only has to step over him to grab his former-weapon. "Amateur," she says in the same quiet voice, before picking the man up off the ground. She shakes her head, remembering how intense battles are outside the wall, wondering how she ever thought this was thrilling. Ahd firmly escorts him to a watch post and leaves him for the Stationary Guard to deal with.

With a misty-breathed sigh, Ahd saunters back into the darkness of the city streets. The itch in her limbs is still there. She begins her patrol again.
