Description
Tragic best friends of the main protagonist of their franchise(Filia and Maka) who started out as enemies trying to kill them. Both were tortured and experimented on at a young age by former doctors turned major antagonists(Valentine and Medusa) notably in regards to their blood. Both were in the process merged with other sentient beings(Buer Drive and Gae Bolga for Painwheel and Ragnarok for Crona) as well as having unique blood transplanted into them(Skullgirl Blood and Black Blood) thus turning them mentally unstable. Both are also often seen as lonely and shunned by those around them, but after losing a rematch with the main protagonist, would be given a second chance at life, even attempting to go to school like others, despite their connection to the big villian of their franchise(The Skullgirl and Asura).

Fun little contrast: Painwheel seems to really like nice things such as flowers, dogs, and friends, and even shows to be genuinely happy when Filia gives her a second chance. Crona despite everything is just always pessimistic, even writing a poem that somehow managed to make those who read it depressed.
