Description
The plaque, engraved in ancient Semantian scriptures, is too damaged to read, and the tomb, decrepit and half collapsed under the dirt and sand that swallowed it thousands of years ago, is an empty ruin thousands of kilometers away. His civilization and his people dead and forgotten, the powerful Phras of Rhegorinthia now rests in a glass box, in view of the respectful visitor. AND dumb annoying kids making faces at his dessicated corpse. The petrified face endures such outrage with a frozen impassible grin, perhaps wiser than to let such childish nonsense disturb his slumber, or dreaming that some day their flesh will be rotting regardless of how healthy they may be at the momentΒ ; or maybe hell forbid, its consciousness is just long gone. Death is okay, it happens to everyone.
In an apparent paradox, they explain the poor condition of the mummy to the Gnomist cult of death that reigned over Ancernan, which saw nobles and priests exhume the tombs of former phras and have sexual intercourse with them during ceremonies of incredible indecency.
