So i guess the story is altered a bit. Dipper may have been apprentice of Ford Skywalker and then when he realised ford had kept secrets about Snoke and the dark side. He joined them?( I guess) he also then knew he had a sister on a desert planet.

Ahh..Oh then this would make sense! Because if we twist the story a bit. We can say dipper liked wendy but she chose robbie instead? But in the story kylo ren is han solo's son. Unless if we change it a bit. Then finn will be stan.
