Thanks for the fav, and nice gallery, I can clearly see an improvement in your newer works, you're definitely going places!
What I notice in these kind of atmospheric works is that the artists usually place some objects really close in the forground, with the darkest value, like some really dark branches or bushes down in the corners. It helps show the distance between the picture plane and the main point - the monster, and it also helps to keep the wondering eye inside the painting. Like a vignette.
