The thing is just that I can't copy anything... no matter how simple the original is, my copies are always crap... like made by a little boy...
So I gave up trying and I always draw from memory... And the personal touch comes from that... my memory isn't too good either...
I'd say that in my case two wrongs make a right.

Same here....I suck at copying. Or, at least I think that what I draw from memory always looks better than copied work, eventhough the copied work may look more like what it is supposed to be. The no-reference one is always more "me" and more "alive". Lol.
Drawing (well) without reference is a rare talent, in my opinion. And you do it very well! Keep it up!
