Those feeders must be working. Great shot.

Now I know why they seemed to be gone they changed colors!! Glad to know they're still around even if they're not the beautiful bright yellow.

They are working well but these are gone (I think), this was taken in early August and I never got it posted. Other varieties are still quite abundant though.

This was taken in August when I didn't have the time to visit my addiction (DA). I haven't noticed any "gold" lately either, along with the hummers are gone.

I still have a female ruby-throat living in the back yard. I am really really worried because she should have flown south weeks ago. I still have the feeders out and I'm afraid that if I take them in that she will starve.

You're in a catch-22, if you keep feeding her she may hang around and that's not nice for her; if you don't feed her maybe she'll strike out and head south on her own (or not). I don't know if they travel alone or with a flock - - maybe you do.

They travel alone. I'm sure she's wondering where everybody went to. I don't know. I feel very, very bad for her.
I called the Wild Bird center in town and the guy there said that hummers have been known to hang around this area until December! So then I went on line and checked all the "official" hummingbird sites and most of them said that the stragglers would go when they were ready so to keep the food out. So I put out fresh food this afternoon and she came and ate at least a dozen times (that I saw) the rest of the day.

Where is Dr. Doolittle when you need him?? Rex Harrison!!!!

That's comforting and hope I'll remember if it ever happens here.
