Description
The new version of Mengde made with HeroMachine to be used in my DFC projects. The original, made with SCV, is still in my gallery under the Original Toku Sentai folder.

For Mengde, descendant of the Chinese warlord Cao Cao, I wanted an old-fashioned Dynasty Warriors-style design since I'm a huge fan of Koei's various Warriors (and Toukiden) titles. I might be alone but I prefer the heavily Asian-inspired Dynasty Warriors designs of 1-5 before they started mixing in Western (European) and even modern styles. This kind of thing is fine since I mix ancient and modern themes all the time but for a game like Dynasty Warriors I like to see Asian-inspired designs. That energy burning from his Dao is Darkness since he's an Umbrakinetic. Hope you like it!

Short Bio: Before he was Head Captain of the Toku Sentai Asia Bloc, Mengde was a successful Chinese businessman. His shrewd business sense and ruthlessness led him to conquer not only the Chinese market but also the East and Southeast Asian markets. It was no secret that Mengde wasn’t afraid to play dirty which led many to wonder why he would want to start and run Toku Sentai, an organization made specifically to help people. But there are others, those who his business bought jobs to, that don’t concern themselves with those issues. Mengde does appear to have the same devotion to protection as Reginald, as his Toku Bloc services all of Asia, but some just can’t help but wonder what his real deal is.

While Mengde did open Toku Sentai Asia two months after Elfriede started Toku Europe the truth is that he’s been lobbying Japan for a Toku Sentai Asia Bloc for a long time. At first, Soukichi didn’t want to grant Mengde’s request despite Reginald’s input because Japan is part of Asia and can help within a moment’s notice. That all changed when Uchuu Guntai Salvaje invaded and the behemoth Whale Beastman, Kujira, angered by Japan’s whaling industry, laid waste to the Land of the Rising Sun from coast to coast, damaging Toku Sentai HQ in Tokyo and putting them out of commission temporarily. It was up to Toku America to pick up the slack but their forces were stretched thin by that point, leading Soukichi to see that more Blocs are needed. When he heard this and news of Toku Europe Bloc being approved in Berlin, Mengde rushed to Japan and lobbied hard for Toku Sentai Asia Bloc. He argued that, as a large and growing nation, China should host the Toku Sentai Asia HQ and could therefore move the fastest to respond. While he did have a point, part of Mengde’s lobbying was because he didn’t want to be outdone by Elfriede (a woman) in an area he’d tried and failed in. Mengde didn’t admit this for obvious reasons but, Soukichi saw the wisdom in his points about China and, with approval from Korea and most of Southeast Asia, Toku Sentai Asia was approved with its HQ in Hong Kong. Mengde was named Head Captain and left his business to his trusted employees while taking his firstborn child Zilong and eldest daughter Lianhua , with him to Toku Sentai Asia.

As expected, Mengde is a classic businessman: smart, ruthless, and willing to do anything for that next dollar or to accomplish that goal. He is also fiercely ambitious and favors likeminded people while denouncing those with little or no ambition. While this outlook may not be bad to some it has made Mengde that much tougher on his underlings and children, especially his youngest daughter Meihua . The two have had strained relationships since childhood, when Mengde started to get tougher on his daughter, which compounded other issues the two had. Another thing Mengde is passionate about is Chinese History, especially the Three Kingdoms Era. He is a direct descendant of the warlord Cao Cao, a man he shares many traits with. Mengde also shares a friendly rivalry with Reginald, a man of like age and fighting skill, in and out of Toku Sentai. He tolerated Elfriede but the two don’t get along due to Mengde’s occasional misogynistic jokes and overall abrasive personality. He has a personal interest in the Seijyuken, as his youngest daughter owns one, and has his own plans but keeps them secret while maintaining communications with Reginald and Elfriede.

Only Zilong and Lianhua know the true scope of Mengde’s plans. But with Deoxia and H.U.M. running about the world such worries are best kept to oneself. Mengde himself has expressed extreme disdain for H.U.M. and has vowed to destroy them as they have timeless religious monuments in China and Tibet.
