- can't figure out how to get mactype to work with bbzero. it says it's running but there's nothing happening. oh well.

I think mactype works only if you use cleartype rendering and truetype fonts. If you run both of those, try looking into the the details (from right click menu on tray icon) and see if the process of bbzero is not disabled.
