Description A polymer clay/Super Sculpy sculpture of a dragon done for my Advanced Sculpture class. Everything was made and painted by hand (except the base - I bought a plain wood one and painted/added the snow). Its one front leg broke 3 days before it was supposed to be handed in but my teacher gave me an extension until today so I could fix and finish its paint job.

Its definitely an improvement over my Pariah Sculpture but I still have a very long ways to go. I will be sculpting small things over the summer to keep practicing.

And I forgot, the top left photo has an awesome angle

Thank you so much for both comments! I originally wasn't going to leave him that blue (I thought it was too saturated). But I was convinced to leave it and use it on the spines/head to tie it all together. The angle shot was a last minute decision

Ever since I've seen the work of Miro in Barcelona, I've just love that shaded of dark saturated blue. I can't help it

Love the detail on the eyes and the colouring is so gorgeous I also like how the tilted head + neck and tail movement add some dynamism.

I love the head! It looks really cool!
I am working on a dragon toi. But he doesn't have wings. It's kind of a lizard. When I saw this I got inspiration to maybe finish my sculpture today thank you fir sharing!

Thank you! It was fun to sculpt but challenging.

No problem! I see why it was challenging, there are so many details and it was probably difficult not to break certain body appendages (tail, wings...)
I´m thinking about sculpting some water dragon/sea-serpent like thing from air dry clay...

That's awesome you should definitely try! Air dry clay is a great material but make sure you have a good span of time to work on the portions of your serpent.

I know....I have some experience in working with that stuff, for example I made a sculpture of the crow from the animation Peter and the Wolf
